The future of some of Manchester City’s star players is uncertain, with Ilkay Gundogan, Aymeric Laporte, and Bernardo Silva potentially leaving the club after the 2022/23 Champions League Final.

Gundogan has been in impressive form this season, contributing to Man City’s FA Cup win with a brace against Manchester United in the final.
However, the former Dortmund star’s contract with the club expires this summer, and he has yet to make a decision on his future. Barcelona is reportedly interested in signing Gundogan on a free transfer to fill the gap left by Sergio Busquets.
Joao Cancelo, who had been a steady performer for Man City in the first half of the season, is no longer in Pep Guardiola’s plans.

The Times reported that Cancelo ignored Pep’s instructions during a team meeting and was subsequently kicked out of the main squad. The Portuguese defender has been loaned out to Bayern Munich, and Arsenal and Real Madrid are said to be interested in signing him.
Bernardo Silva has been a key player for Man City in recent seasons, contributing seven goals and six assists in the 2022/23 season. However, PSG and Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing the Portuguese midfielder, who is said to be looking for a new challenge in his career.
Aymeric Laporte, who was once a mainstay of Man City’s defense, has become a backup for Ruben Dias, John Stones, Nathan Ake, and Manuel Akanji.

Laporte has only played 11 Premier League matches this season, and Man City is reportedly not standing in his way if he wants to find a new club. The club is also said to be targeting Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol as a potential replacement for Laporte.
The potential departures of Gundogan, Cancelo, Silva, and Laporte would be a blow to Man City, who have been dominant in recent seasons.
However, the club has shown a willingness to let players go if they feel it is in the best interests of the team. It remains to be seen what the future holds for these players and for Man City as a whole.
