Manchester United (MU) star Antony has been sued by his ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin for violent behavior and death threats.
The Brazilian player, who is worth 100 million euros, has been accused of abusing and threatening Gabriela’s life. The lawsuit includes evidence such as pictures of her injuries and threatening text messages from Antony.
Gabriela has reported the case to the Women’s Protection Police Station No. 5 in the Tatuape district of Sao Paulo state.
She has also requested measures to protect herself and her family from retaliation by Antony. The lawsuit states that Gabriela was physically assaulted by Antony four times, with the first incident taking place in July 2022 when he was about to leave Ajax to join MU.
The last time Gabriela was threatened with death by Antony was on May 20, the same day he played in MU’s 1-0 win over Bournemouth.
In January 2023, Antony allegedly attacked Gabriela so severely that she had to undergo surgery. On another occasion, Gabriela cut her hand. During their year-long relationship, Gabriela was pregnant with Antony’s child but later suffered a miscarriage.
Antony has not yet spoken about the allegations. Currently, he is recovering from an injury sustained during MU’s 4-1 victory over Chelsea on May 25.
He was not included in the registered players’ list for the FA Cup final on June 3. Since joining MU from Ajax, Antony has scored eight goals and has three assists.
The lawsuit against Antony is another blow to MU’s image behind the scenes, following Mason Greenwood’s recent controversy. The club has not yet commented on the matter.
