Every day, stray dogs roam the streets in search of food and shelter.

Among them is Jhonny, a dog without a known owner, whose days are spent waiting for compassionate individuals to offer him food and affection.

However, his usual source of sustenance, a bakery named La Espiga, has permanently closed its doors, leaving Jhonny waiting outside, hoping for a kind gesture from his bakery buddies.

Thankfully, there are always people who lend a helping hand. Now, they hope that Jhonny’s presence will inspire others to consider adopting him or at least offer him a meal when they encounter him.

A Facebook user named Amandi Rodriguez Maya shared Jhonny’s story in a group called “Perdidos Perdidos de Tampico Madero y Altamira.”

She described a dog, whom she believes is without an owner, looking forlorn outside a bakery that had permanently closed.

Unlike before, nobody welcomed him or provided him with bread or food.

Jhonny spent his days waiting or lying outside the bakery, eagerly anticipating his daily sustenance.

However, since mid-December 2022, this routine has come to an end due to the closure of the “La Espiga” branch in the center of Tampico.

The Facebook post shares, “His name is Jhonny… He was seen sleeping outside the Cuidado con el Perro store in the market, but he mostly waited outside the bakery ‘La Espiga’ because he knew they always offered him a taco.

Regardless of rain, cold, or heat, the staff there always came out and provided him with food. Now that they have closed, he is still waiting outside for his food.”

The publication notes that Jhonny appears to be visibly saddened by the situation.

The primary aim of the publication is to urge people who encounter Jhonny to offer him some food.

Many individuals have been moved by his story and empathize with the challenging circumstances he finds himself in.

“If you see him around, invite him to eat. He loves little packets with croquettes, and occasionally, chicken was one of his favorites.

But please refrain from giving him bones as they can harm him,” states the publication.

Jhonny’s unwavering vigil outside the closed bakery serves as a poignant reminder of the challenges faced by stray animals.
